Join Rory Tassonyi of HMS Psyche CMHS as we examine the origins, uses, and typologies of Naval Dirks. A weapon primarily used by Midshipmen and Commission Officers which saw a surge in popularity from the 1790’s to the end of the Napoleonic Wars. Their use is surprisingly important for our period of focus, as it serves as a glimpse into the military requirements, technological progressions, and social hierarchies of the day.
